Inter-region latency (ping round trip time) pivot table showing all regions
Median latency (ms) between machines located in different regions in the specified time range. Here, a lower number is better. Use the pull-downs at the bottom of the chart to select from among the options for metric, regions, and IP type.
Inter-region throughput (netperf) pivot table showing all regions
Median throughput (Gbits/sec) between machines located in different regions in the specified time range. Here, a higher number is better. Use the pull-downs at the bottom of the chart to select from among the options for parallel streams, regions, and IP type.
This dashboard shows the results of Google Cloud Inter-Region latency and throughput benchmarks.
It is maintained by the networking research team at the AT&T Center for Virtualization at Southern Methodist University.
The results reported are as measured. There are no performance guarantees implied by this dashboard.
These network benchmarks are run daily between every pair of regions in GCP using open source PerfKit Benchmarker.
They are run on n2-standard-2 machine types. ***changed from n1-standard-2 on 04/28/2023
The values displayed in the tables below are median values over the specified time range.

Google Cloud Inter-Region Latency and Throughput
Inter-region latency (ping round trip time) over time
Median latency (ms) between machines located in different regions in the specified time range. Here, a lower number is better.
The number of time series that can be displayed at once is limited. If the region pair you want to see is not visible, you can select it from the 'sending_region' and 'receiving_region' dropdown menus beneath the chart.
Inter-region throughput (netperf) over time
Average throughput (ms) between machines located in different regions in the specified time range. Here, a higher number is better.
The number of time series that can be displayed at once is limited. If the region pair you want to see is not visible, you can select it from the 'sending_region' and 'receiving_region' dropdown menus beneath the chart.
